Anyone who has bought a comic has at one time or another wanted to create one or work for a company that publishes them. That sounds easier than it really is, but with some hard work and, most of all, patience...LOTS of patience, you might just get lucky and find yourself working in one of the coolest industries there is.

Now, keep in mind that the following submission guidelines are for submitting story ideas and are not for a staff position or art gig with APA. If we are looking for any new staff help full-time or part-time we will post it on the boards. Even though we do hire artists, and maybe even a few writers from time to time, we don’t have the time to look over a bunch of submitted samples that come in. The best way to get noticed by someone here at APA is to venture over to the correct spot on the boards and post there. If we are looking for someone and you fill the bill then we will contact you via email from the boards.

Now on to the guidelines...

APA is constantly on the lookout for fresh new projects and welcome your submissions, but if you want us to take notice be sure to follow the following steps. This will insure that everything moves smoother for everyone.

1.   Make sure your pitch is complete and the entire creative team is already attached. We don’t hire freelance talent for any creator-owned story. If you don’t have a colorist attached and you are doing a full color comic then it’s your job to fill the position. If your pitch is not complete and you leave out subject matter from your concept that leaves us trying to fill in the blanks, that just doesn’t work for us. Now, you don’t have to write more than a few good pages tops, but still you have to make sure that you give us enough info that we know what is going on.

2.   As tough as it sounds, make sure your project is of quality. Just take the time and look on the shelves and see what is getting all the buzz for art and story. We may be the new guys on the block, but we can't afford to publish anything that is sub-par. We do understand that there are many different styles and taste, but good is good and if you can't blow us out of the water then nobody else is going to be blown away either.

3.    Make sure you take the time to sign the submission release form that we have provided. It's pretty simple and if you do not take the time to fill it out then we just won't take the time to look at what your sending us. Your submission will get tossed in the trash. If you're sending your submission via email or link you still need to fill out the form and send it along via email so we will take notice and look at your submission. If your sending your submission via postal mail make sure you fill out the form and print it out and mail it along with your stuff

4.   Your submission should be complete with the following information:

            a) At least eight (8) pages of complete sequential art. When we say complete we mean all art, lettering,

and coloring if it's not a b&w comic. You don't have to send a cover along but if you have one we don't

               mind seeing it.

            b) A detailed project overview that lets us know what the project is about and what makes it special.

            c) A completed script. Do not send scripts for your entire series—one issue (or chapter, in the case of an

               OGN) is more then enough.

Here is how and where to send us your submission.

1.      Via Weblink. Host your art and/or pitch on a website, and send us the URL, along with a short message introducing yourself and your work to us. Send weblink submissions to submissions@atomicpopart.net

2.      Via Email. We can accept moderately sized file attachments. Please don't send us any 20 MB pitches. If you send a submission this way send them to submissions@atomicpopart.net

3.      Via Snail Mail. If you prefer, you can send your submission to old fashion way via snail mail. Do NOT send original art or materials you cannot replace, samples will not be returned. These can be sent to...
